Profile: | The AIT Austrian Institute of Technology is a limited company (GmbH) in accordance with Austrian law. The Division of Nano System Technology combines semiconductor technology and thin film processes with innovative concepts from nano- and bio-sciences. Nano Systems operates the ‘Centre of Thin Film Technology’ (CTFT), a technology centre for heterogeneous integration of multi-functional components based on different technologies and materials. Functional layers, sensors & actuators, µ-fluidics, µ-heaters, microelectronics and nanotechnological components assemble to advanced devices. Numerical modeling supports the hardware development. The integration of bio-, nano- and biomimetic interfaces and materials is the key to product improvements and novel solutions for our partners. In the FP6 EMAC project, we helped develop magnetic memory integrated with CMOS devices using silicon. |
